In the 1960s, super sports cars were still lush, beaten aluminum shells with curves reminiscent of supermodels. Organic shapes that looked as if they had been carved from marble. But in Italy, a new generation of designers worked day and night on radically new ideas that seemed to come straight from the future. And so began the era of '70s alien concept cars, which were essentially wedge-shaped vehicles with sharp edges and planes. The roof height was lowered to window sill level, you practically sat on the floor, windshields and hoods shared a flat plane. Always with a V12 monster that felt like it was screaming right behind your head. Many of these concepts are now forgotten by most people, but one of them graced the poster on every boy's wall in the 80s. It's hard to underestimate the influence these cars have had on popular culture, not only in terms of vehicle design, but also science fiction films, fighter jets, speedboats and many other recognizable shapes in our lives.
